previous / next / 2010 / this was the first class project to work for a local for-profit enterprise. in this case, the abandoned ithaca gun factory was the to be demolished to make way for a new housing project. a local developer, travis frost, challenged the students to investigate the project in terms of a new l.e.e.d. product, "neighborhood development". the class provided a set of research materials and recommendations for how this project could be developed to achieve a platinum l.e.e.d. rating. this was the first investigation into the use of l.e.e.d. "nd" in the southern tier of new york state.
